We are well into August now and a number of plants that had a flush of flowers in spring are making an effort to produce another flowering before the summer ends. The second bloom is usually much less numerous but sometimes the individual flowers seem to be larger or more beautiful than the first ones. Or, maybe, it is just because, as I feel the cool breath of autumn bearing down on us, I cherish them more?
