you have frozen the movement in the wings so well - I would love to get better bird shots when they are moving (you will notice now that my birds are nearly always still when photographed)
@koalagardens Well the freezing, of course, depends on the shutter speed but the problem is that getting a close up shot, without actually getting too close to the subject, usually involves a telephoto lens and, unless you have a lot of money to spend on it, getting a longer telephoto means that you are going to sacrifice the speed of the lens and to need a lot of light to be able to use a fast shutterâŚsigh. This shot was taken with just an 85 mm lens and then the image was pretty drastically cropped. It froze the motion but of course means that, while it looks okay, on line, in a small size like this, it just wouldnât have the quality to produce a good sized print of this should you wanted too. Seems you are always sacrificing something.
