I changed my macro camera lens and went out, with the express purpose of trying to take some landscape shots but, within two minutes of arriving at a small wooded area, my eye was caught by this guy flittering by. This has to be the largest, and most beautiful, dragonfly I have ever seen. He's body looked like a piece of green jade and his head (or really his eyes) were a beautiful golden colour as were the highlights on his long abdomen. Unfortunately (for me) that colouring meant that he blended in very well with his surroundings and made for a less clear image than I would have liked. Still, when fate sends you a remarkable dragonfly, I think you just have to go for it. Landscapes can wait.
