Acorn Detail

The same acorn tops as I posted a couple of days ago but, this time, using focus stacking to pull more of them, including the insides, into sharper focus.
Nice one! I have been seeing quite a bit of focus stacking on Flickr lately. I think it gives great results but I am far too lazy!!

@quietpurplehaze I tried it first, back around 2013 I think. It can produce pretty awesome results but like you I found it a lot of trouble and also I found it was very hard to do “on site”, Trying to photograph a flower in the garden, for instance, was almost impossible because the slightest wind movement or a change in illumination made the stacking a failure. SO, I pretty much abandoned it for a few years but when I started taking photos of individual seed heads, and such, indoors it seemed a good opportunity to try it again.

Fantastic! (It was helpful reading your comments to Hazel about indoor vs. outdoor shots and focus stacking...I'm so not there, but in the future.) Fav
