At first glance I took this for a black capped chickadee which I see around here quite often, although I photograph less often because they are such fast and flighty little things, but after a second look something didn't seem quite right so a little, bird identification searching, lead me to the conclusion that this is a Carolina chickadee at the upper northern edge of it's usual territory.
A beautiful capture of this cute little bird! Love the light on its breast feathers and the dark background! Fav (Joanne, do you know the bird app "Merlin" from the Cornell Lab? It's great! And it's free!)
@365projectorgheatherb I downloaded it to my pad which on second thought was kind of dumb since I seldom use my pad to take pictures. Maybe I could take a screen capture of my postings on 365 and se if it would recognize them. Still a work in process.
