The local pond was covered with geese when I passed by earlier today. I only had my phone with me, at that time, so used that to get this shot. It was interesting to see because the pond had been frozen but, after a couple of warm days, it is thawing and in some areas the geese were swimming and in other areas they were walking on the remaining ice.
@shutterbug49 These geese don't seem to go south for the winter so most of them are around here all year long. I've heard that it is the food supply, rather than the temperatures which makes them go south so, as long as they can find food in the cold months they stay around.
