Since she was a stray and we don't know her exact birthday, we decided to celebrate the day she found shelter from the storm in our garage. Happy 2nd Birthday Katniss!
I can't believe she was a foundling! How fortunate for her to have found a home, and lucky lucky you that she came into your life! What a little beauty!
@Weezilou Thank you, Louise! I will have to tell you the whole story sometime! It was a roller coaster ride but Katniss was worth it! We enjoy having her in our life every day!
This cat is a born model! Lol! My sister loves cats as do I and when she came to live with me when her husband died she wanted a cat. I would also love to have a cat BUT Finlay would definitely not accept a cat into the house. He is driven mad by our neighbours cats and also knows every house around which has a cat. He nearly chokes himself on the lead trying to catch them! Lol! Fav!
@pamknowler Thank you Pam! I never wanted nor thought I could have a cat because I was so allergic growing up. Katniss was a pregnant stray, abandoned when the family moved. I took care of her darling newborn kitten and her for 3 months, then was going to find them both homes. However, I discovered I was no longer allergic, at least not to her, she got along and was kind to my little dog, (who would also chase cats) and she stole my heart! My 5lb teacup schnauzer was shocked to find this cat did not run from her! Sophie thinks she is magical because she can jump on a table, climb a tree or go over a fence! Katniss now weighs 11.4 lbs so she can easily hold her own. Being a Maine Coon, she is the "gentle giant" and the "dog" of the cat world...so an excellent cat for me to have since I have always been a dog person! Katniss even comes when I call her home when she is outside. Sophie and Katniss play chase and actually keep each other company! But your Finley has it made! What a great life he lives...a very lucky puppy! ❤️
@pamknowler PS...One of my favorite photos of Katniss is March 21st. I know she might look like a model but I have to be prepared and shoot fast! You have no idea about how many great photo opps got away! 😊 Oh...with Finley you probably understand...always on the move!
