@Weezilou Thank you, Louise! Whenever, I see a sunset, I think of you. :) We have had some good ones lately! Lots of clouds backed up to the mountains. Dennis pointed out that if no clouds, no glorious colors! I never really put that together before...silly me!
@gardenfolk The colors also can come from the particulate in the air! Arizona has some amazing sunsets, but there's the dust factor. And what about the color that comes from a smoky sky when there's a forest fire? I suppose it's all that and more that the meteorologists get college degrees!
@Weezilou Right you are, Louise! We had anther incredible sunset last night! Our skies have been heavy and smokey off and on from the California, Oregon and Washington fires... :(
Now there's one of those news bites that I haven't seen reported elsewhere! We've had zero fire-residue coloration that we've seen other times, and I wondered if it had something to do with the way the winds blew! Clearly it does!
