...Aesop
My sweet husband and I met 36 years ago on February 19 and we were married less than 7 months later. He brought home a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses and baby's breath to celebrate Valentine's Day and our "meet cute" anniversary. He chose yellow roses because whenever I cannot find Katniss, I sing "You are my Sunshine" and Katniss will come running to me. I sing to her if she is under the bed, under my car, in a closet or whenever I want to see her...it works every time. And, of course, Katniss claimed the roses for herself. Now she dines with roses on her table. :) Best on black.
Love your story and this image. So funny that Katniss comes running when you sing her song:) Happy Anniversary too - 36 years of togetherness - wow!! Fav.
@suzanne234 I haven't seen Katniss eat them but she does smell flowers, circles them, admires them and knocks petals off with her tail! She does seem to love the roses. :)
@kathiecb Thank you...At first, I thought she thought I was distressed so she was running to my aid. But now I think she really does enjoy it because she will come up and knead me with her paws or groom my hair. Katniss is very sweet. Thank you for the follow! :)
@365karly1@taffy@carolmw@kwind Many thanks...Katniss loves flower bouquets. She always assumes they have to be for her. She circles the vase, smells the flowers and knocks the petals off with her tail while she is trying to put her scent on them, claiming them as her own. I love this ritual! I cannot resist this appreciation and share. :)
February is spilling over with love for you! Such gorgeous roses...and I love the not-so-well-hidden Katniss! Must say that's also (yet another) favorite song of mine!
@radiogirl Thank you so much! When she came to me as a pregnant stray, her name was a progression. First, I called her Kitty Kitty, Miss Kitty, then Mama Kitty. I had no trouble naming her B&W kitten, Panda, but I was stumped for Mama Kitty's name. Then...I caught a bit of the Hunger Games on TV, though I saw all 3 movies and when I woke up the next day, I knew the perfect name for her was Katniss...or KitKat, short for Kitty Katniss. Both the character and kitty were brave, loyal, kind-hearted and survivors. :)
Thanks for enjoying my story and rose capture. I am not sure if Katniss photobombed the photo or not but she is always welcome, whatever she does. :)
Thank you, my 365 friends! I really appreciate it! :)
@joemuli Many thanks!
@busylady Thank you Judith and for the follow too. I will follow in return. :)
