It is not so much
for its beauty that
the forest makes a
claim upon men's
hearts, as for that
subtle something,
that quality of air
that emanation
from old trees, that
so wonderful
changes and renews
a weary spirit.
...Robert Louis Stevenson
This is one of my favorite homes in Lake Tahoe. It is located in Tahoe City across from William Kent Beach, along the shores of Lake Tahoe. Whenever I visit the Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge for lunch, I go on a short walk to a take a photo of this charming home. I met the owners years ago with my friend Lana. There is also an outside fireplace, detached garage and workshop, a hammock and little bridge in the garden area. I think it's wonderful and it was probably built in the 1940's or 1950's.
What a beautiful home. The owners take such good care of it, everything looks to be in perfect condition. I’m curious about the white paint on the tree trunk on the left. Perhaps to thwart insects or animals from hurting the tree?
