Life is a balance
between what we
can control and
what we cannot.
I am learning to live
between
effort and surrender.

I love the way these rocks can balance like that...something of a miracle! I used fancy focus in Pickmonkey and not sure if I like the blurred sides, but I tried something new.
I was out of balance on Sunday. We were invited to go to my son Devin's house for dinner. Instead, I suggested they come over to our home since we have a landscaped/grass front and back yard for the 3 grand boys to play in, even though it was another 100 degree day. We were also going to barbecue and eat outside but we do not have a pool.
Plus, in doing 365 with so much enthusiasm, the house needed some work, due to neglect, to get ready for company.
At 8am, I started washing dishes, chopping veggies for the grilled pizza, making guacamole, caramelizing onions, lunch, laundry, vacuuming, making the bed, moving breakables, cleaning bathrooms, straightening, up and down our 4 level house of stairs, cutting strawberries for dessert, etc. My husband was mowing the lawn, blowing off the patio, cleaning the table and chairs, getting out umbrellas, setting up a kids table and chairs, etc. Then we both took showers and waited for the real games to begin. Family and grand boys showed up at 6pm and Katniss disappeared (she was hiding outside) and Sophie made mouthing threats to the youngest grand boy, age two Declan. Declan also knocked over the kitty bowl of water so we got the porcelain tile kitchen floor cleaned for a second time after Dennis knocked it over earlier in the day.
After having margaritas and guacamole inside (lemonade for the boys), we did sit outside for dinner...grilled pizza, as it had started to cool down nicely with a bit of a breeze. Everyone loved the pound cake, sliced strawberries and vanilla ice cream for dessert. Each boy got 3 books to take home with them. The family left after 10pm, with the boys in their PJ's, I loaded the dishwasher and Dennis and I collapsed in bed by 11pm. I can barely move this morning...must find balance...but it was fun! I was so busy that I didn't even take one photo yesterday and was too tired to post last night. LOL!
