As long as no one is standing in its way
a wildfire is a natural event.
Put people or animals in front of it
and it becomes the stuff of tragedy.
...John Maclean
We have several large wildfires currently raging in California. They have resulted in loss of property and homes and loss of life. Very very sad. The skies have been cast with a peach glow and this was the sun yesterday evening. It looked beautiful but I also knew the meaning behind the hazy glow. Nice on Black.
your image with its sharp jagged edges on the leaves and the fiery glow around the sun tells of both beauty and danger. So tragic that such havoc is being wreaked by the fires just now.
May the rains come.
A beautiful image but such sad and scary events! We are seeing this on the news over here and it must be so frightening to be living anywhere near any of the fires. Stay safe!
It is so sad to see those fires! I hope they become contained soon! This is a beautiful photo and I love your framing! Sending good thoughts and prayers your way!
A pity such a tragedy and sad event turns the sky into a stunning colour. A magical image and composition. Hope the fires are contained soon and praying for the safety of man an animal.
So sorry for all the fires I am seeing on the news now, what a tough year for wildfires it is in many places. A beautiful image. I remember when I lived in Australia, they told me the bush fires were the way of everything spreading and germinating again that lay beneath the ground. It got rid of the scrub and gave the wildlife a chance to flourish. A natural event, as you say.
beautiful shot … I heard a man on TV say the fires are like a tornado. I think the fires are much worse because they completely destroy thousands and thousands of acres, and a tornado's path is very small in comparison, and a tornado doesn't rage on and on for weeks!
May the rains come.
