There are so many
different challenges
California has...it's
the greatest state
in the greatest country
in the world. Hasta la
vista, baby.
...Arnold Schwarzenegger
the 38th Governor of California
from 2003-2011
I love California. I was born in Los Angeles and lived in Pacific Palisades in southern CA until I got married at age 28 and moved to northern CA in the Sacramento area. So, California is my home and both fires have affected me deeply and made me so heartbroken for all the residents who have lost their homes and all the wildlife and people who lost their lives. The Camp Fire was moving so fast, at 70 football fields a minute and was a firenado. There was little time to evacuate and only one road out. My heart goes out to those who are hurting. I am hurting too.
Those words from the ex-Governor are chilling! The irony of "Paradise" being incinerated is nothing short of allegorical! I can't imagine what those people are going through! Heartbreaking...
A sadness overwhelms me too, as I see what is happening on tv! Thanks for the links although some are painful to watch. Praying for your beautiful state, it's people and animals.
We are seeing news of the fires on tv over here but nothing can really bring home the reality and horror of what is happening! My heart goes out to everyone having to live through this terrible time. Feeling helpless!
As Pam said, it is very different to be there than for those of us a few thousand miles away seeing it on the news. The complete destruction of home and places people love in this way is utterly devastating. My heart goes out to you all.
It's just so devastating for California and all it's people. My heart goes out to everyone and I hope the fires can be brought under control very, very soon.
I’m so sorry, Cathee, the television coverage has shown the awful heartbreaking results of these fires. Just devastating. Hugs and prayers from Texas for you.
The fires in California are just devaststing. I can't image the heartbreak. It is in are need every day. As @louannwarren said, hugs and prayers from Texas.
It's such a horrible thing. Is it going to happen every year now? It's getting harder and harder to live in your beautiful state. A beautiful photo and tribute to your home, CC. {{{HUGS}}} from Ohio.
It is unimaginable that a fire can move so fast. Terrifying to think about. Heartbreaking for you and so many others. Beautiful image that conveys your feelings so well.
I was looking at some pictures the other day and it's just shocking to see teh remains looking so much like a tornado went through. I hope that the resilient American spirit will help people put their lives back together although I imagine it will take a long time. My heart goes out to everyone.
