"We'll be friends forever
won't we , Pooh?" asked Piglet.
"Even longer,' Pooh answered.

The nickname Porkopolis was coined around 1835 when Cincinnati was the country's chief hog packing center and herds of pigs traveled the streets. Poor little piggies.
In 1999, the inaugural Flying Pig Marathon was held on the first Sunday in May. It is now the third largest first time marathon in the US and a huge annual event in the city. Though my husband has run in 20 marathons, I am trying to talk him into running this one.
There are flying pigs of every kind you can purchase as a souvenir. There are ceramic flying pigs, metal flying pigs, jewelry, flying pig T-shirts, ornaments, flying pig pillows...a little of everything. They are all so fun and cute. I brought home a T-shirt which was an early birthday gift from the friend I was visiting that says "I will run a marathon when pigs fly." Haha! I also got a Rookwood pottery flying pig.
The pigs photographed were stenciled/painted on the window of a fabulous downtown gift shop called the Elm & Iron.
I posted a piggy image from the Elm & Iron window too! Great minds think a like. https://365project.org/yogiw/2019/2019-06-16 I like your image and description. You're doing our city proud.
Fun shot- and info. I have only driven by Cincinnati on a highway- we saw the stadium where the Bengals play- but it sounds like an interesting place. Of course every time I hear the name I think of the TV show WKRP in Cincinnati!
