Autumn seemed to arrive
suddenly that year.
The morning of the
first September
was crisp and golden
as an apple.

More like October...It feels like Autumn this week. Cold, crisp nights and warm sunny days, with a coolness in the breeze. The energy has shifted in the air. I like it.
It is also apple season, along with the beginning of baking season. The visit to High Hill Ranch at Apple Hill was fun. However, right before we were going to buy our apple donuts, they had some sort of gas leak and the shed store was temporarily evacuated. As we decided to browse through the craft booths, the shed store and sales reopened. When we arrived back, there was the longest line I have ever seen to buy donuts and fritters. We waited almost 1.5 hours in line, bumper to bumper so to speak, in the sun...no social distancing but at least we all had our masks on. Best on Black.
