I took a walk with a friend along the American River in Newcastle, California. It was a beautiful day. We were looking for Avery's Pond but the trail was unmarked and hard to find. So instead we walked along the river. The water level was very low. We need some rain.
Nice on Black.
Lovely lines on the river banks... this is the way our lake gets every winter but it is because the water is released at the dam to lower the levels. Hope you get some rain.
@photographycrazy My son graduated from UC Davis. He met his future wife the first week of college and they got engaged in graduation day. Married now for 13 years with 3 boys. :)
We had a lovely day though we never found Avery’s Pond...no markings on the trail. We made the best of it and walked the river for close to 3 miles. Then had lunch and walked the cute shops in Old Town Auburn where the John Travolta movie, Phenomenon, was filmed in 1996.
@kvphoto Interesting dilemma. We all need water.
I think there is a war also between Northern California and Southern California over water. They want to divert more water from Northern CA but there isn't any extra to give...and northern CA grows more produce orchards and crops.
