First, I walked outside and found the bowl on my birdbath had fallen off and shattered into pieces. It was glued to a base that locked into the pedestal, however, the glue did not hold. I just got it in May for my birthday.
Then, I had worked all day on a puzzle, as well as late nights, wee into the morning hours. I had completed the two kitties on a tray, went downstairs to slide into the puzzle with only a few stray pieces to go.
It was dark in the dining room and I thought it was odd that I couldn't make out the puzzle on the table. When I turned on the light, the puzzle and mat was gone! After walking to the other side of the table, I saw the puzzle upside down on the floor, with the felt mat (lower left photo). Since there is no video, I can only guess that when Katniss jumped off the table, the puzzle slid off the other side. This has never happened before. Or at least, not to my first 19 completed puzzles.
I took 5 days off, then put the pieces together again. The mishap happened last Monday.
If you kept the pieces of the fountain bowl, maybe use solar powered fairy lights to make pretend water for a garden feature? I love the Monday's quote.
HaHa! Thank you all. I did polish (more slippery) the table, which probably didn't help the situation. And the felt mat hung over both sides of the table. So, when Katniss jumped off the table...it was an accident waiting to happen. I still enjoy it when Katniss comes down and keeps me company when I work on a puzzle...even when she lays right where I am trying to work. She can do no wrong!
