When spring came,
even a false spring
there were no problems
except where
to be happiest.
...Ernest Hemingway
A week ago, I spotted this tree in the neighborhood and I was amazed how early it bloomed and was already dropping petals. Our magnolia tree was still in the closed bud stage at the same time. Beautiful though and our tree is getting some blooms unfolding at the top.
We had a Spring like that two or three years ago, and we might see another one this year, where we had our April in March, but cold moved back in and killed all the beautiful Magnolia blossoms.
Many thanks! Our magnolia tree usually blooms in March, thus I call it March Madness, like for college basketball. So when I saw two magnolia trees on my street that had already hit full bloom and was losing petals, I was surprised. I think they must get more sun than ours does. Anyway, our magnolia tree has survived lots of rain, high winds and squirrels, thus far. Hoping to get lots of photos of magnolias in March! :)
