I'm including KMBC.com's weather article:
Sunday, March 2, 2014 will go down in the record books as one of the coldest days in March in Kansas City, MO., history.
The National Weather Service said Kansas City only saw a high temperature of 5 degrees Sunday, making it the coldest high temperature ever recorded in March in Kansas City.
The previous record was a high of only 11 degrees on March 4, 1978.
The National Weather Service said the "normal" high temperature for March 2nd is almost 50 degrees.
Extremely cold temperatures will stick around to start your work week. Wind chill advisories are in effect as wind chills are expected to plummet as low as -20 overnight.
Brrrr!!! We were supposed to get 4 to 8 inches of snow but since it was so cold we received mainly sleet. Thanks for viewing. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend.
The weather is also much colder here than it usually is at this time of year. We are all getting so tired of it. but at least you got this lovely snowflake recorded for posterity!
Fantastic snowflake shot! The flakes really pop against the red background. If that's a deck chair, it sounds like it'll be awhile yet before you're able to lounge in it comfortably, unless of course you bring it indoors, which is starting to sound like the only way us Midwesterners are going to be able to use our patio furniture anytime soon.
I just can't get over how you captured that perfect snowflake. Since we never have snow here, I never realized they really do have pretty patterns like that. Excellent creative shot and a fav.
