Three's A Crowd

Your uniqueness is your identity, don't lose it. To be noticed in a crowd, you have to be different from everyone else.

I'm not sure what these mud daubers are up to, in broad daylight and on my front porch, but my grandson is intrigued with insects and spotted them. Obviously, they were oblivious to the camera!
ok, what is going on!? love this shot!

Ménage à trois by the looks of things. Fantastic macro - so sharp and makes a wonderful photo.

get-pushed.... if you're busy with grandchildren and no time for high key - then how about another brilliant macro insect photo.

@jocasta Grandchildren went home yesterday so I'll try high key. But thanks for the offer!

It seems that insects can be kinkier than we realize. I shot a threesome of Japanese beetles recently, which I may post someday soon. Good for your grandson for spotting this--how did you explain it to him?:)
August 13th, 2014
@tristansmum Luckily we were on our way to the car to walk on the nature trail and he didn't stop to ask questions because he didn't want to get stung. He's eight, though, and told me very matter of factly that arachnids are his favorites.

Wow Kim! What an amazing capture! The bug geek in me needs to look this up and know what they are doing! Fav

That's just a whole lot of black and yellow! Great capture, and bit on the daring side as who knows if they have short tempers about having their picture taken, especially if interrupted during some important "meeting". Thanks for the inspiration to look up and read a little on these insects. Learned some interesting things.
