I thought this would be a Great Spangled Fritillary (Speyeria cybele), which is in my neck o' the woods. Surprised to see a different tag, I searched Fabriciana adippe. The High Brown Fritillary is native to Europe and across the Palearctic to Japan. If this was taken in Kansas, compare yours to https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Speyeria-cybele
