Patchwork Heart by genealogygenie

Patchwork Heart

This little heart is made from surviving pieces of a worn out antique quilt. The pattern for the squares with the triangles is called flying geese so this works for the f-word February theme. I also decided to use this for the black and white book club theme because the black and white version draws attention to the patterns and prevents the red and green colors from feeling like Christmas.
Very pretty craft.

Lovely. Did you make it? I love using old fabric pieces this way. You can remember the quilt every time you see the pillow...and now the photo serves as a remembrance as well.

What a wonderful idea to use for that old quilt - to preserve its memories. Very nice shot of it - and do like it in the b&w.

I love it and what a wonderful idea. If you belong to the Quilter's Guild of the UK, their theme for making something to raise funds this year is 'hearts'. I might well use your idea!
