Was messing around with my remote shutter hook up that I bought this past winter and pretty much never used yet. Took like 28 shots and this is the best one, although I think I look kind of terse. I had a decent one with a smile also, but there is a weird shadow on the left side of my face I could not get rid of, so like I said, this one is the best so far. What do you think?
Very cool. I really have trouble getting a decent self portrait. have done the same re remote shoot using my ipad and camera wifi but have never really got one I am happy with. More practice I think:)
This is an excellent self-portrait, Glover. I think this serious image, without a smile and with the eyes fixed on the camera lens, shares a depth much different from a playful image with a smile.
@kipper1951 Thanks. I encourage you to try it out. Once I got past the fact that my neighbors behind and to one side of me thought I was crazy, based on the looks they were giving me out their windows I was fine. You can do it! When you do ... share!
@islambad@gaylewood@henrir Hey thanks! I appreciate your comments. My wife actually says I look mean, but I kinda like this one. I also agree that a smile is not necessary for a good/great portrait. I would even argue that some of the best I have seen of others do not have smiles in them and they show a lot of character, or maybe depth.
