What an awesome plane! My dad and our family was stationed at Yokota AFB in Japan, and our off-base housing was looking out at the runway, where these bad-boys would take off, along with another amazing fighter jet, the F-105. My buddies and I spent hours watching them land and take off there.....good times.
When you see these huge aircraft on the ground it makes you wonder how in the world can they get off the ground.
I went through basic training at Fort Dix in New Jersey which was right next door to McGuire AFB. It was something to see when we fell out in the morning at O dark hundred and see the F-105s take off with their afterburners lighting up the night sky. Great composition!
