@mmartin Here is my first attempt at Low Key this week. Got home after 9:00 after a board meeting tonite and shot this one in the entry way from my garage into the house. Will work on more, so give me your honest opinion. Don't be slackin' on the comments, 'cause I can take it!
I would say it is a good attempt however I think there should be less light still. You really want the light to only highlight a very small amount of the photo. Search the low-key photos on here to gather some more inspiration. I find an interesting subject (face or something with great texture) yields the best low-key photos. I'm not the best at describing using words so let me know if that makes some sense.
