Turning your back on me! by gigiflower

Turning your back on me!

OK, so I continue to watch the Rainbow Lorikeets eat my flowering gum tree to death. The least they could do was pose for me when I'm practising my shutter speed skills. This bird had the audacity to turn his back on me when I was trying to capture him mid-flight. Oh well, I'm pretty happy with this one but lots more practise to be done!
they drive me to distraction when I try to capture them - how fast do they move and twist???? love this and your gum is divine :)

I just love the colours of their wings as they fly away but I have never managed to capture it. Well done.

@koalagardens For every 1000000000 photos I take of them, there will be 1-2 that are vaguely ok. They are super, super fast and whilst I have a really fast lens, even that can't keep up!!

I know right! I could never have afforded this hobby in the days of film that had to be developed!

Clever girl....I have resorted to photographing them while they're eating the flowers haha...every now and then I try for some action...to no avail 😕

A lovely explosion of colour - a beautiful image even if he turned his back on you !

From what I read is it not easy to photograph them in flight. so don't fret, you succeeded even when he turned on you. the gum tree is so beautiful.

Cheeky devil!! But I rather like this shot, gives a whole different view of the lori than usual. Pity about the flowering gum though.
