Mmm, so many things to learn as a relatively new lover of all things birding! This is definitely a wren. However, it is really tiny so I think it is a young wren. I thought it was a lady wren because it was grey (and boring) but upon close up, I see some blue......so is this a young boy who is growing into his wonderful blue colours of a Splendid Fairy Wren??? So many questions, so little answers :)
I have so many wrens and still learning. if you use fb there is an australian bird identification group - so many members I get an id within 1-2 minutes!
It could be a young male blue wren but it could also be an adult too. Once the breeding season is over the male splendid fairy wrens colours change back to boring brown until the next season.
