Not what I was hoping for today as I wanted a sunset or moonrise seeing we finally had a hot day. Not to be - the clouds rolled in! Luckily I had been down at the breakwater earlier and watched the seagulls feasting on this shark's remains. Not sure how it got on the pathway as the fishermen always throw the remains into the ocean for the seals, stingrays and sea birds!
# I would really like to thank everyone for viewing my photos recently and leaving wonderful comments. I enjoy reading them and laugh along with the entertaining ones. I'm very busy at the moment and not home much (but I do enjoy being out) so my computer time is limited. I also love looking at everyone's photos so spend quick time doing that as well when home. Please accept this as a BIG thankyou :)
Rather macabre Denise but on the bright side , excellent shot of the seagulls wingspan. Great day for the seagulls, keep them amused for most of the morning I would think :)
This is a great capture with his wings spread like this. Charlie says the stomach shown here is probably full of seagulls (irony!). My son says that the shark will be eaten from best part to last, and the brain is high in calories. I have no idea if he's right, but he usually is.
It's a great shot for sure!! Nice and clear....even the sharks eye, which is kind of eerie!! But nature does what it does. Those wings look like angels wings!
@wordpixman@ishutter@hermann Thanks for great comments. I agree it's an icky photo but something grabbed me about it :) @gigiflower Thanks Sam. That eye was so bright blue :) @denisedaly@susanalena@denisefuller Thanks for terrific comments. I was in the right place at the right moment :) @julzmaioro Good one Julia :) @pyrrhula Thanks for great friendly words. I'll do the best I can this week :) @cejaanderson Thanks for the added info. Guessing the seagulls won't want to eat the stomach then :) @hellie it's a silver gull - the most common one here! i think the shark is a gummy shark which is commonly used as flake for fish n chips :) @janiskay@tosee@seattlite Thanks all for wonderful comments :) @eyesmile@milaniet@flyrobin@lealady Thanks for great comments. It was the wing capture that convinced me to post such a different photo :) @mbemis Thanks for the comment and fav Mannie. No you don't usually see this as fish scraps are usually thrown into the sea :) @peterlgrave You're definitely right there Peter :)
Take you time and take care. We`ll wait patient. No apology needed
