Red Hat Society by gilbertwood

Red Hat Society

This is another group of friends that I socially meet with once a month. The red hat Society was started in the U.S.A in 1998 when Sue Ellen Cooper gave a friend a red hat for her birthday. From there the RHS is all about meeting with friends totally for fun, friendship, frivolity and freedom! There are now many thousands of groups across 30 different countries! Last night we met for a picnic in the gardens, but sadly only 10 were there. However I needed a photo so here we are in our red hats and purple clothes :)
# Many thanks for all the wonderful comments this week - I really have enjoyed reading them all. I'm sorry but I'm time poor to respond to all individually. A BIG thankyou to all for visiting :)
A very happy group shot.

"When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me."
I doubt that poet Jenny Joseph had any notion her words would be the inspiration for a worldwide fellowship of women. Your group looks like they have a lot of fun and frivolity together. Beautiful shot.
