International Missing Children's Day - 25th May by gilbertwood

International Missing Children's Day - 25th May

Last week I read an article on this and it really pulled at my heart strings. In Australia 2 young people are reported missing every hour! The organization is working in conjunction with the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children. I just can't imagine what it would be like to lose a child and never be involved in their upbringing. So this is a photo of my 4 children taken 27 years ago - I have had the pleasure of watching them grow into adults and they are so precious to me. My heart goes out to all families across the world who haven't had this pleasure.
A lovely photo of your children when young I agree it must be unbearable to loose a child and not knowing what has happened to him !

Your children are indeed so precious, no matter their age, and I believe the youngest is your "Little Me," as is said in the U.S. Last year I posted a photo about people still looking for missing children, even though the children were now in their 40's and 50's. Here it is, in commemoration of Australia's designated day: http://365project.org/cejaanderson/runners-up/2013-12-04

What a beautiful family you have. To lose a child at any age is not good. My daughter was 36 when she died and I miss her every day.

I'm with you all the way on this subject, my eldest Son lost his 13 year old boy through an accident and I feel his pain every day and night. You just can't imagine what goes through the parents minds when someone goes missing.

A lovely portrait, yes it's heartbreaking, I don't know what I would have done, to have no closure must be dreadful.
May 25th, 2015
A very memorable shot. I agree with you. Sometimes I feel that I wasn't always there while they were growing even though I gave them all my attention. Now it's the same with the grandchildren.

Such beautiful children and though I didn't have one stolen or go missing I did have one pass away and in my opinion there is NOTHING worse than losing a child. I can't even imagine what it would be like to not know what happened to my child!! Nice of you to bring this out and people should be more aware of what it going on and the children in their neighborhood!! Your children are so cute!! FAV!
May 25th, 2015
Yes, the statistics are horrendous, aren't they! So glad that all 4 of yours are happy and healthy.
