ANZAC DAY by gilbertwood

ANZAC DAY

This is my dad marching off to war in 1941. He is centre front. I grew up watching him march every Anzac day in our home town. Sadly he passed away in 1986 with a war related illness. Lest we forget. My dad :)
Tremendous photo Denise. As an emigre to NZ, I am so impressed how the war veterans are remembered here.

Wonderful tribute, Denise.
I'm sure you know "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" , a song written by Scottish-born Australian singer-songwriter Eric Bogle, about the battle of Gallipoli. A great anti war song.
