Brolga and rain

These 2 photos were taken only a week apart! I captured the brolga on the nest last week, but this week she is struggling to protect her eggs as we have had a lot of rain. She is actually standing on her long legs and placing her body on the eggs!

@onewing Most birds are usually amazing in knowing what the water level will be - this has really caught her off guard!
@merrelyn She's on the Foxhow Rd which is on the backway we go to Melbourne. I'm going again next Saturday so it will be interesting to see what is happening!
