A very special engagement

My youngest daughter got engaged this weekend and it's been so wonderful :) I inherited my mother's engagement in 2002 and wore it with pride for many years. Then several years ago my youngest daughter said when and if she ever got engaged she would like to have her "grannie's ring." I said that would be wonderful and then put it away for safe keeping. Well, Matthew had to come and ask me for the ring before he proposed to her, and of course I was sworn to secrecy! It was a long 24 hours before I got the phone call that she had accepted :) And to add to it all - it was on my late dad's birthday too!
