Nimmon's Bridge by gilbertwood

Nimmon's Bridge

Saw a sign to this old bridge at Newtown so detoured down to it - well worth it! Built in the 1850's it's one of Victoria's largest trestle bridges, and the top has been restored as part of the Ballarat rail-trail. I can't find out how high it is, but all I can say it was mighty high :)
The trees give it a sense of scale. An amazing feat for its time!
