I tried so hard to get his tongue...
....but I missed every time! This is a blue-tongue lizard I met on our first "hot" day here at Tower Hill. And now for the overnight weather change!!!

They certainly do look prehistoric - good description! This one was about 30cms (12 inches) and very "chunky" Surprisingly their skin looks rough but it's actually quite smooth with such detailed pattern.

Only a coupla hundred or so, mostly had golfers attached. They're the only people mad enough to put up a brolly in those gales.
