Went into Lichfield today. Never been there before. The Cathedral was lovely though hard to get a good shot as signs, stacks of plastic chairs and electrical items got in the way.
My Mum tells me that my Dad, who had been called up into the army shortly before World War II started, was at a service in Lichfield Cathedral with his army regiment when it was announced that war had been declared.
