The sugar glider is a small, omnivorous, arboreal, and nocturnal gliding possum. The common name refers to its predilection for sugary foods such as sap and nectar and its ability to glide through the air, much like a flying squirrel. The sugar glider is native to a small portion of southeastern Australia.
@onewing yes, in the wildlife park on the eastern coast. I wish to see in the wild, I will be over the moon but honestly, I have seen these gliders first time ever.
@gosia@koalagardens I have seen sugar gliders in the wild, but only at night and yes Katrina I think they must be nocturnal.
We went out one night close to the koala sanctuary at Anna Bay to see if we could find them and we saw sugar gliders, possums, a few koalas and a boo book owl all in the wild. It was a fabulous nights spotting, but rather chilly.
