I spent three days hiking with our son, Andrew who came from Western Australia for Christmas. Took us four hours to drive from Hobart, capital of the state, to the remote car park in the centre of the island. This breathtaking area is called the Walls of Jerusalem and as many other popular hiking trails in Tasmania, it is necessary to book the spot ( it is free ) First day was tough with the initial three kilometers up hill hike with full backpacks. This photo was taken close to the camp base where we set up our tents for two nights. The toilet, water tank and platforms for tents were the only facilities available. And a fresh air, amazing nature sounds and smell, views and night sky full of stars for everyone who was lucky to get here.
