Male swan beside the Leeds Liverpool canal, Rishton.
This splendid male swan was being protective of his partner's nest.
I was a little apprehensive when he came up out of the canal onto the grass and looked at me..
I need not have worried, he was just eating some of the grass and then played at chasing the Canada Geese .Great fun.
He might be a long lost cousin!
He was very friendly.
