A Heart of Pure Darkness by graemestevens

A Heart of Pure Darkness

One would hope that the surgical removal of this blight upon society's furry, plush and beating heart will stop the havoc that he insists on wreaking in our otherwise peaceful and sleepy seaside town.
It may be that in future the children will be able to sleep peacefully and without fear at night, and picnic grounds will once again be safe from gruesome murders.
We can only hope, wait, and see what the future brings...
Parental Guidance Recommended (PGR) photo?? Very effective use of SC.

Oh you have a great imagination Graeme... Love the selective colouring, the lighting and subject matter...Fav
May 12th, 2014
Nobody's safe with you on the loose Mr Stevens - I'm keeping my Teddies safely locked up indoors.
May 12th, 2014
@golftragic Thanks very much - looking back, a high proportion of my shots seem to need rating!
@longexposure Thank you very much, and for the fav also :)
May 12th, 2014
@vignouse There has been a disturbing lack of plush happiness in our neighborhood of late - I hope no one looks in my wardrobe!
May 12th, 2014
@graemestevens hiding a few skeletons??? Lol
May 12th, 2014
@longexposure Not to mention straight jackets and dead teddy bears
May 12th, 2014
Ok, forgive me, but it reminds me of this CRAZY video of a teddybear operation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdYaTa_lOf4

I figured you might actually laugh.
May 12th, 2014
@darylo Love it, especially the "Courage Sac" and "Crotch Unicorn"
May 12th, 2014
oh maaaaaan! perfect excuse for selective colouring... wonderfully macabre :)
May 12th, 2014
@northy Thank you very much
May 12th, 2014
Really like this. Although, I have to say poor Ted gets a hard life. Very cool use of selected colouring.
May 12th, 2014
@graemestevens Or "Teddy must have loved a Bad Boy..." It's endless. And gross. But hilariously weird.
May 12th, 2014
@jules13 Thank you - as yet he's remained relatively unharmed (we can't really count psychological damage)
May 12th, 2014
I find myself looking at these photos and giggling in a high pitched maniacal way......I think my family is getting concerned....must act normal :)
May 12th, 2014
Yes! This is one of your best in a while, so creative. Fav!
May 12th, 2014
Great macabre shot. Love the selective colouring. I too giggle, what is wrong with me?
May 12th, 2014
@deak68 why be normal?
@jess1204 thank you so much
@ceilidh thanks, and nothing is wrong with you at all!
May 12th, 2014
So very creative. But poor Teddy. Hope he wasn't too scarred by this experience. Fav.
May 12th, 2014
@taffy Thanks very much - he's survived everything else that I've put him through, so he should be okay
May 12th, 2014
@deak68 Diane describes my behavior perfectly...... Glad your town is safe again. Was it the teddy that removed the heads and arms of those women?
May 12th, 2014
@newbank Not entirely sure, we haven't been able to dust for prints...
May 12th, 2014
Sam
I dreamt about doing this to my work colleagues today. Do you think that is bad? I mean, it wasn't a teddy bear I was thinking about........maybe you are a bad influence on me?
May 12th, 2014
@gigiflower I dream about doing this to some of my colleagues as well...if you're going to dog through my office and draws while I'm out, at least have the decency to put things back where they belong. And why are they in there doing that anyway? I think that's one of the reasons I end up doing shots like this. The other reason is that I'm slightly unbalanced.
May 12th, 2014
@gigiflower why did the iPad auto correct "go" to "dog"? I hate auto correct.
May 12th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens Are you English Graeme? Because you have such an ironic sense of humour that I can only wonder if we have met in a past life, whilst killing work colleagues along the way. I think there should be a law that allows you to kill nasty work people once a year. And then light a large bonfire to celebrate. Oh, and you type that on the ipad? No wonder you make mistakes....tut tut!
May 12th, 2014
@gigiflower I'm not English, although we did live there for 7 years and half of my family is very, very Scottish. The other half is Irish. There's even a little bit of French in the mix. So essentially I'm an unbalanced mongrel with a slightly bizarre humour that tends towards the darker side of life. Personally, there are days when I wouldn't bother killing colleagues before lighting that bonfire of yours!
May 12th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens I just might have to put a bonfire photo and dedicate it to you ;)
May 12th, 2014
@gigiflower include burning corpses please!
May 12th, 2014
Very interesting shot

May 13th, 2014
Another awesome 'story shot'…these photos would make a great (dark) book of imagination seen through the eyes of an artist….;~)
May 13th, 2014
@tasian Thank you very, very much, that means a lot :)
May 13th, 2014
Glad I could help!
May 13th, 2014
@gigiflower Sam, you really made me LOL! I am wondering about these work colleagues! My work colleagues are ok. It's one of the carpool mom's I am having some issues with.
May 13th, 2014
Graeme....I am wondering what a teddy bear did to you as a child. These helpless creatures really are harmless....or are they???
May 13th, 2014
@harbie I beg to differ - having seen what this one in particular is capable of I wouldn't be turning my back for too long
May 13th, 2014
So creative!

@gigiflower @harbie nothing wrong with a good laugh!
May 13th, 2014
@vignouse I agree with you. But I also agree with so many of the others who comment on the macabre humor and the creativity of the idea! Good execution, btw.
