Yes, yes I am clinically insane but sooner or later we all knew that I'd set something on fire again. Who knew however that this "something" would be me (probably most of you...)
The last time that I tried a shot like this I had a very small cap of butane cupped in my hand. This time there is NOTHING between my hand and the flame, which I must add was bloody hot.
This is the best shot that I managed to get as it didn't take long at all to figure out that there are only so many times you can do this before the skin reaches a whole new level of sensitivity.
Best viewed large against the black back ground, and while you're doing that I'll be sobbing the corner, nursing my now hairless hand (and in hindsight I should perhaps of used my left hand...)
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
@kimkyra thank you wife of my heart...as for the WTF part, that's almost what I said when my hand went WOOMPHAH!!! Can't figure out why the house smells like a BBQ though... ;)
Ouuuuuch! Very cool shot though as long as no human was hurt in the filming even you, Graeme!! Love the blue flame on the outside along with the yellow one!!
@kimkyra I'd prefer it if you nibbled on my fingers, but I may get hungry enough to have a wee snack. I've suddenly realised that i smell delicious. @harbie Thanks very much - it was a bit touch and go but I made it out alive @creativefool Thanks - I had loads of water very nearby and used it too! @jess1204 Thanks very much, always appreciated
@newbank@graemestevens OMG I'm in HEAVEN! Mr Stevens is back. I can now rest easy. But I think I need to go and get a glass of wine and study this photo. Oh and BTW, not one fav???? Are you kidding me? Let me be the 1st..........! You can thank me by favving one of my lovely and delicate mushroom photos. It's far more boring than your FIRE shot however at least I didn't end up in the hospital having a skin graft ;)
@ceilidh thanks very much @gigiflower I had a sneaking suspicion that you might like it...but it's not in focus. I discovered that when ones hand is on fire it's very difficult not to move. Thanks for the fav too :)
@graemestevens Who cares about the focus! Nobody even commented on it............we just want to see FIRE and burning hands! Out of ten, what was the pain level?
@graemestevens A 3? Oh wow, you have most people on this thread fooled!!!! Except for me of course......now I want you to ramp up the burning act and go for a 5/10!
@lilminimonka thanks very much @longexposure love that song - thanks very much @denisefuller completely certifiable @daneau thanks - no plans to stop just yet, just the odd break @lisatown thanks, and yes, I agree. Mainly because I like eyebrows. @lynnilou thanks very much. It was slightly warm.
I have to give you the fav for dedication and madness!! I actually tried to convince my husband a while back to do this for me but after he did some research, refused!! I was hugely disappointed :-)
Completely mad. Hope you will soon recover to use your camera again. Glad you are managing the BW water challenge because you need to put your hand in that river!
@roseolivia I'm wishing I'd done a bit more research as well... @mzzhope Thanks very much - I just felt like playing with matches yesterday @lleo Bonkers even, but no damage done @rachelwithey Thanks very much - back for this shot anyway!
@eyeamlisa Thanks - not happy with it myself, but it was the best of a bad bunch, especially when my first instinct was to run around the garden flapping my hand my maniac and crying for Mummy!
I do have concerns here.....I mean once you start setting fire to one body part it can only lead to more - and what comes next - wait......I'd probably rather not have you answer that one.....
@harbie Thanks very much - it was a bit touch and go but I made it out alive
@creativefool Thanks - I had loads of water very nearby and used it too!
@jess1204 Thanks very much, always appreciated
Great shot! Yes, setting yourself on fire (again) was a foregone conclusion.
@golftragic thanks, still got it ;)
@wearing0 oh very...thanks
@golftragic I know...completely insane
@newbank Can you do that? It didn't hurt. Much.
@gigiflower I had a sneaking suspicion that you might like it...but it's not in focus. I discovered that when ones hand is on fire it's very difficult not to move. Thanks for the fav too :)
@gigiflower I do it for fun...and I'm a Territory Manager, so I know all about competition. Apparently ;)
@longexposure love that song - thanks very much
@denisefuller completely certifiable
@daneau thanks - no plans to stop just yet, just the odd break
@lisatown thanks, and yes, I agree. Mainly because I like eyebrows.
@lynnilou thanks very much. It was slightly warm.
@mzzhope Thanks very much - I just felt like playing with matches yesterday
@lleo Bonkers even, but no damage done
@rachelwithey Thanks very much - back for this shot anyway!
