Sunset? by graemestevens

Sunset?

After a day of building ramps and steps for my father in-laws house and access to said house, Kim and I went down to Back Beach to photograph the sunset. It, like me, was a non-event and "her indoors" (otherwise known as @kimkyra) had the sheer gall and cheek to post two almost identical photos to two of my top picks...the bugger. I'm so upset and out of sorts that I will be writing a strongly worded letter to management. Which also happens to be Kim. That may not work.
Sam
In your capture, the man is walking. Lazy bugger.

@gigiflower Haha Sam! Actually Graeme this is pretty awesome love the clouds and misty look
July 13th, 2014
Oh how can you be unhappy when this is such an awesome image? The shapes of the hills and clouds complement each other ( they were almost saying nice things to each other until my intelligent brain corrected my spelling ) and the lines and curves are beautiful. Hmm I am feeling quite complimentary it would seem. Good luck with the strongly worded letter ha!

Kim
Hmmm, I vaguely remember a whale type steal which happened a while ago 😘. And I don't think this is that bad, I like the misty haze

Lovely shot.. looks very peaceful
July 13th, 2014
@gigiflower Not lazy. Sensible. If he gets any more logical he'll be in a car.
@tracelee Thanks very much - the sea fog was just starting to roll in
@annied You are very complimentary indeed this evening. I thank you from the heart of my bottom. As for complimentary clouds, we went into a furniture shop yesterday and they had an Occasional Table on sale...I'm still trying to figure out what it is for the rest of the time if it's only occasionally a table...
@kimkyra You're quite right of course, so I shall forgive you. You have narrowly avoided being the recipient of a Letter.
@julzmaioro Thanks very much - it's usually surprisingly busy at this beach, but not so bad tonight
July 13th, 2014
So not your usual style Graeme, but I like it a lot. Like Annie said, the shapes and tones are fab.
July 13th, 2014
@graemestevens mine is occasionally a foot or bum rest - it prefers being a table though
July 13th, 2014
this is lovely - the lone figure makes it
July 13th, 2014
@dibzgreasley Thanks very much - I felt unusually mellow today for some reason.
@annied We don't have one at all. I have nowhere to rest my bum :(
July 13th, 2014
@shannejw Thanks very much. He was running, but it threw stones at him until he stopped.
July 13th, 2014
Just love this atmospheric capture, fav :-)
July 13th, 2014
@graemestevens the loo maybe but too long and you would have indentations ;-)
oh and this ----------------well it just --------------I am still laughing http://deadfood.com/possum-stew/
July 13th, 2014
Very emotive scene no matter what you say!
July 13th, 2014

Great shot I love the detail in the clouds
July 13th, 2014
the solitary figure stands out - only in B&W
July 13th, 2014
@annied The one thing I don't do :(
@wearing0 Thank you very much
@brigette Thanks, I did toy with a colour version but it just didn't work at all
July 13th, 2014
@graemestevens I am sure a nice red would suit perfectly - not an expensive one though - after all it is roadkill BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
July 13th, 2014
@annied True, But therein lies the problem. One does not drink inexpensive reds ;)
July 13th, 2014
@graemestevens indeedy - so new plan - write a blog matching a good red to each roadkill recipe - I am sure the blokes from Duck Dynasty ( apparently they are loaded ) would snap it up
July 13th, 2014
@annied Sure. I can fit that in around work, photography, homey stuff, raising a child, walking the dogs twice a day, the spot of charity help and life in general. I'll just cut down my sleep time to an hour a night and we'll be good to go.
July 13th, 2014
@graemestevens knew you could manage it - the superhero that you are ;-P
July 13th, 2014
Knew this was your photo instantly! Saw those huge blobs on the beach and recognised it as NZ. Then made the connection. Very beautiful scene.

Blobs of land I meant, not blobs of any other kind!
July 13th, 2014
An awesome image, Graeme. Well done.
July 13th, 2014
Such a sense of isolation in this image - well done!
July 13th, 2014
Yet to see Kims's so if this is the bad photo I cant wait to see Kim's as this is really stunning. I would quite happily be that bloke walking admist that stunning scenery. good choice I think too for the b and w. Very effective. I think you put yourself down too much. You're good.

Haha, I love it! I am due to go to the beach right now!! Thank god my partner doesn't do photography, he is very competitive and would likely try to trump me all the time. Now I must see hers...
