Derelict

This is the Cardiff Dairy Factory, or what's left of it, which is about a 40 minute drive from home. Cardiff is a small settlement in rural Taranaki, as opposed to a large city in Wales as many currently believe. It's a common misconception but it seems that no one can be bothered correcting the situation.
Nice perspective. Great processing too, abandoned buildings always look better in b&w.

Is this near the university? ;-)

Sounds like you are doing your part! :) Interesting building.

@karlow75 Thanks very much - more shots will follow...we may have "illegally" (such a grey area) entered the building...
@bill_fe I think it IS the university
@kt8ird It's the least I can do ;)

Dark and gloomy........!

@gigiflower Just like my soul...
November 15th, 2014

~a very cool building
~is there such a thing as illegally entering a derelict building? If so I did it a lot as a teenager - just wish I had been more into photography then
~ Wales don't you mean whales? that is the only one I know
November 16th, 2014
oh silly me - sometimes I do wail - it is good for the soul
November 16th, 2014
A nice and dark shot. Very cool.
November 16th, 2014
@northy Thanks very much
@annied I know of several things that it's illegal to enter...
@gigiflower Unequivocally
November 16th, 2014
@888rachel Thanks very much
November 16th, 2014
@graemestevens I wonder if our lists match hahahahahaha
November 16th, 2014
Definitely a place for exploration. Great picture. I bet there's some rotten cheese in there.
November 16th, 2014
You KNOW I can't wait to see MORE of THIS!!! Fave, of course! :)
November 16th, 2014
Oh yes! Love this one.
November 16th, 2014
Cool looking building.
November 16th, 2014
@annied Quite possibly...then again, I do live in a rural area...
@bigugly By this time I would have thought so, along with the old cars, trucks, tractors and general waste
@juliedduncan Thank you kindly nice lady :)
@golftragic Thank you very much :)
@ukandie1 Thanks - there are loads of these through out NZ, most deserted, some converted into businesses and homes but this one is just falling apart
November 16th, 2014
very cool
November 16th, 2014
@eyeamlisa Thank you kindly :) More to come.
November 16th, 2014
Best on black... very excellent textures and contrasts here.
November 16th, 2014
Great processing - really adds to the "abandoned" feeling of the building!
November 16th, 2014
Seems a bit of a waste of an old building, nice image :)
November 16th, 2014
@rosiekerr Thank you kindly, much appreciated
@tabarlett Thanks very much :)
@hermann It does indeed - and thank you :)
November 16th, 2014
is this the one to which you are referring? If so I love this - it is great in B&W - I know there are those who like straight horizons in some instances but I think the composition adds to its dereliction
November 16th, 2014
@annied This would be the very one. Interesting isn't it? And thank you most kindly.
November 16th, 2014
@graemestevens you are welcome - and I like the plastic face squish and the heart - couldn't comment there so letting you know here hahahaha
November 16th, 2014
@annied Thank you again...anyway, must dash, have a pleasant evening and all that, and thank you :)

Lol - There was an old dairy in Cardiff in NSW too but is now being redeveloped into aged living housing ... I wondered for a minute if it was still standing.
November 16th, 2014
You must be correct. Here I thought I could see a great rugby match (apparently a game designed for thugs and played by gentlemen!) (not that strange hybrid we see where there's lots of padding, but a real game by real men) at the Millennium stadium in Cardiff because I thought it was in Wales. Oh dear, back to dreaming!
November 16th, 2014
@annied if you were in Ireland you'd get a wailing (a smacking). My mum could deliver them brilliantly!!!
November 16th, 2014
@ceilidh hahahahaha - there are those who have a real talent for it Margaret
November 16th, 2014
Great image. FAv.
November 16th, 2014
@kareenking Thank you very much :)
@ceilidh So sorry to disappoint ;)
@sidecar I'm starting to think there's too many Cardiffs around!
November 16th, 2014
Gritty photo of this poor old building. Dairy factories nowadays don't look like this. I've never heard of Cardiff so interesting to learn about it!
November 16th, 2014
Amused you classify Cardiff Wales as a big city. Perspective. Can't wait to see the illegal shots.
November 16th, 2014
@newbank It amuses me as well, but compared to what we have here...it's big enough ;)
November 16th, 2014
@maggiemae Thanks - I'd love to get my hands on it and give it a refurb, but from what we saw iinside it's already 'in use' by someone...
November 16th, 2014
Great building!
November 16th, 2014
See as I am working backwards I a,ready know what rough delights there are inside here.......poor dairy milk wasn't half as scary!
November 18th, 2014
@overalvandaan Thanks very much :)
@happypat LOL, I love the phrase "rough delights"
