Where's the broom? by graemestevens

Where's the broom?

This is the inside of the Dairy Factory...it seems to be still in use to some degree, although certainly not as a dairy factory...more as a giant receptacle for junk, broken down vehicles and copious amounts of bird droppings. The smell was a pure delight as well.
Best on the black as well if you have time.
This would be a metal scrappers goldmine. What a mess. Dark and dingy.

Looks like my kind of place! Great shot!
November 18th, 2014
@888rachel It would be - I was sorely tempted myself. It's very difficult to take a photo with your hands in your pockets...and thanks very much :)
November 18th, 2014
@juliedduncan I quite liked it to - thanks very much :)
November 18th, 2014
What a great place to get into. I was just out photographing this old barn that I wanted to get in. Maybe not so much alone for my safety sake.
November 18th, 2014
I've fav'd this Graeme, as I think this is a photo you could process everyday for a week or more, and get great and different results everytime!
November 18th, 2014
Yep..best on black. Amazing variety of textures.
November 18th, 2014
Lee
A lot of detail, and what a mess. Good shot.
November 18th, 2014
Industrial grunge... lovely! I'm sure that we'll be seeing more of this place, and @archielogical is right, this image would be responsive to a number of different treatments. Good find.
November 18th, 2014
this has such a cool gritty feel to it! yeah - you could process this any number of ways and still end up with something good... what a fabulous spot you've found!
November 18th, 2014
What a great find! Makes a wonderful b& w image - very grungy!
November 18th, 2014
Hahaha! Fabulous shot, but I think it needs more than a broom! LOL!
November 18th, 2014
Really interesting shot! My eye is drawn more to the right than the left especially where that international sign is. I agree with @northy on her comments--this could be a few more shots in one with a variety of cropping and processing options! Cooooool. And fav.
November 18th, 2014
Super grungy industrial feel!
November 18th, 2014
Cool. Actually hubby's shed is a bit grungy but not as bad as this, but guaranteed should I need some little item, he can lay his hands on it in an instance :)
November 18th, 2014
Hahaha! Love the title! And, yes, it's very cool on black! Fav.
November 18th, 2014
Wow
On phone so will get back to you
November 18th, 2014
@amandal You'll be fine...it'll only hurt the first time ;)
@archielogical Thank you very much - it was almost agony trying to decide what to do with it!
@aecasey Thanks very much :)
@gamelee Thanks very much indeed :)
@vignouse Thank you very much, much appreciated
@northy Thanks very much indeed :)
@pamknowler Thanks very much :)
@homeschoolmom You be right there...a match? And thank you very much :)
@darylo Thank you so much - it was a painful experience trying to decide what to do with it!
@ukandie1 Thank you very much :)
@hermann LOL, my shed (Room of Horrors) is much the same - thanks very much
@kareenking Thank you very much on both counts!
November 18th, 2014
@annied Super.
November 18th, 2014
Someone's probably flying it somewhere. In the meantime you need to check for the undead in here.
November 18th, 2014
Cool - definitely looks a little dirty! Love all the 'stuff' there - my eye is drawn to the international sign!
November 18th, 2014
Looks like a great place for photos of junk and general decay. Not sure about the droppings though.
November 18th, 2014
A blokes paradise.... great shot..
November 18th, 2014
@golftragic You're probably right...but I am the undead in here ;)
@tabarlett Thank you kindly - I liked that sign as well so may, or may not, have given it a slight boost ;)
@chippy1402 There are more droppings than junk I'm afraid...
November 18th, 2014
@julzmaioro Thanks very much :)
November 18th, 2014
I love this shot, reminds me of when I went to the dump. I love places like this.
November 18th, 2014
@jess1204 Thank you very much :)
November 18th, 2014
@graemestevens I am back - well as you know I have been for a while but I have been agreeing and talking about jugs and smiting
as for this deliciously delightful dereliction I showed it to the kids and school because we have been talking derelict warehouse and they loved it - so - how can I not - so I will - and I do
November 18th, 2014
@annied Why thank you lovely lady type person. You have, by taking the aforementioned and above stated action in a timely manner, avoided my first smiting with a nifty little sidestep, like some sort of nimble antipodean intent on busting out a dance move to stun the gods.
November 18th, 2014
@graemestevens phew - that was lucky - could have been quite unsightly
November 18th, 2014
@annied You'd probably survive the experience - I don't seem to be a very good shot
November 18th, 2014
@graemestevens and despite the occasional whinging I am quite tough and good at ducking and weaving
November 18th, 2014
Wow -looks like a cleaning lady is having a day off ;)
November 18th, 2014
@susale I thinks she's had a few years off...
November 18th, 2014
@annied Good at ducking huh? Well well...
November 18th, 2014
November 18th, 2014
@annied Snigger
November 18th, 2014
I can imagine a lot of men thinking that is paradise!!
November 18th, 2014
very gritty, love it, fav.
November 18th, 2014
Wonderful gritty scene. I really like the International sign in such good shape compared to the rest of the surroundings.
November 18th, 2014
@rustymonkey My mouth was watering...
@andrewkru Thank you very much :)
@lisatown Thank you very much - it drew my eye as well
November 18th, 2014
Sam
This looks like a mans shed, not a dairy factory!
November 18th, 2014
@gigiflower I know...it's a disgrace and is sorely in need of a woman's touch about the place
November 18th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens You could leave that stinky lavender from my shot of yesterday ;)
November 18th, 2014
Love this. So much to see. So many images in one, Mind you'd more than broom to clear that lot up!!
November 18th, 2014
Sue
Looks like a great place for finding bits a pieces that you might need and are not sold anymore!
November 18th, 2014
Love the b&w - looks like somewhere to explore endlessly
November 18th, 2014
I love everything you've done here!
November 18th, 2014
Looks like a chop shop Graeme, lovely Low Key shot...Fav
November 18th, 2014
bird poo and smell was a delight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 18th, 2014
@pinkpaintpot Lots and lots of poo...and lots of smell
@tonygig Thanks very much...they're certainly chopping something ;)
@tammyputney Thank you so much :)
@essafel Thanks very much :)
@sioux I think it's a bit of a treasure trove
@thistle I agonised over which image to post - there are so many here! And thank you so much
@gigiflower Why not...one flower in the corner should do it.
November 18th, 2014
@graemestevens yuck! like the shot
November 18th, 2014
@pinkpaintpot 'twas horrible
November 18th, 2014
You could look at this picture for ages.......fascinating amount of men's stuff.......and broom is only the start!
I am trying to catch up with your shots....I have been sadly lacking over the last few days!
November 18th, 2014
I heard there are a group of photographers doing industrial heritage shots around the world. This is qualified as one of them.
November 18th, 2014
So well composed and so much to see. Love it.
November 18th, 2014
nice find Graeme...gritty plus
November 18th, 2014
smell better or worse than your skull? You need smell a vision for your images.
November 18th, 2014
Just the place for some of your dystopian shots
November 18th, 2014
@newbank Ewwweee no smell a vision! I think it will take more then a broom to save this place.
November 18th, 2014
@happypat I think it's my favourite f all the shots we got - thank you :)
@yaorenliu Thank you kindly for that :)
@yrhenwr Thanks very much :)
@tellefella Thanks very much indeed
@newbank Someone needs to invent a "scratch & sniff" screen
@ceilidh It certainly is ;)
@janiskay Much, much more than a broom - it definitely lacks a woman's touch :)
November 18th, 2014
duck the broom, bring in the bulldozer.
November 19th, 2014
@bill_fe You're not wrong - I still think it needs a woman's touch though
November 19th, 2014
I've been telling people to scratch and sniff their monitors, but it's always been when I've had good smelling flowers on the screen. One person tried to send me a bill for his damaged screen! :-D
November 19th, 2014
@bill_fe LOL, I think it's an untapped market
November 19th, 2014
@graemestevens men can clean as well as woman if they want too! The idea that cleaning is a woman's job is way out of date! Especially in these days of house husbands!
November 19th, 2014
@janiskay Damn straight and I do all the laundry and much of the house work here, but no one organises a man quite like a woman ;)
