Time for a dip by graemestevens

Time for a dip

Reginald is a big fan of skinny dipping but it's not something that I can bring myself to enjoy. In fact, it would be fair to say that rather than being a skinny dipper, I'm more of a 'chunky dunker'.
And I was thinking graceful dive opposite cannonball dive, but then I asked Mark what it actually meant, skinny dipper and chunky dunker. I thought I'd mastered the English language by now, but hey learned something new today.

I must say Reginald looks a bit anxious, I'm not too sure if he really likes water. I like the blurry rocks underneath and the colours.

Brrr...chilly for one, dino.
November 19th, 2014
@overalvandaan Thanks very much - and I'm pleased you learned something new ;)
@amandal Maybe that's why they're not around anymore, a penchant for skinny dipping in the cold
November 19th, 2014
I agree with saxa that Reginald looks worried.
November 19th, 2014
Beautiful serene photo

Sam
I find it very hard to believe that you don't practise the odd skinny dipping, considering the amount of NUDITY that you have shown us here! I'm a ladyeeeeee
November 19th, 2014
If Reginald gets pushed into that water, he is not coming back!! I think that's how his species became extinct! Lovely shot, btw..
November 19th, 2014
@panthora Thanks veyr much - he made through the experience though...
@gigiflower My comestibles are far to valuable to be dipping in any old mountain stream thank you very much
@carlt Thank you very much :)
@newbank He didn't to be - he's safe and sound at home
November 19th, 2014
Love this capture Reginald getting ready to do the skinny dip thing. Kind of duck murky water to be jumping into but to each his own. Glad he is home safe and sound.
November 19th, 2014
@janiskay Thank you very much - he's safe until his next excursion ;)
November 19th, 2014
love this shot! could be the opening shot if a childrens fantasy movie.
November 19th, 2014
@mzzhope Thank you so much - it could be, but children are awful creatures ;)
November 19th, 2014
'Think Reginald needs to wear some thong :)
November 19th, 2014
@joemuli Well he's certainly not borrowing mine!
November 19th, 2014
go on- last one's in is a sissy
November 20th, 2014
Super shot...I used to be a skinny dipper! Those were the days :)
November 20th, 2014
@pinkpaintpot That's me then!
@ukandie1 Thank you very much - I've never done it but then I have trouble staying afloat in the shower!
November 20th, 2014
Very cute! Funny description. :)
November 20th, 2014
@kt8ird Thanks very much
November 20th, 2014
maybe he's just thirsty. when's the last time you gave him some water?
November 20th, 2014
Hahaha. This is fabulous.
November 20th, 2014
@blueberry1222 Ah...that could be it. I'm a bad parent ;)
@epcello Thanks very much :)
November 20th, 2014
I do hope you warned him of the dangers of diving into unknown waters.
November 20th, 2014
@golftragic Of course not...any chance for a photo opportunity ;)
November 20th, 2014
lol I love that... "chunky dunker"! Brilliant! Love the shot too! Looks very "Jurassic Park"-like.
November 20th, 2014
chunky dunker, classic!
November 20th, 2014
@eyeamlisa I don't really have the figure for free ranging...And thank you kindly
@kali66 I couldn't help myself :)
November 20th, 2014
Looks very refreshing :D It's so hot here atm I wish I could go for a dip :)
November 20th, 2014
@tw It's supposed to be hot here as well but all we have is wind and rain :(
November 20th, 2014
The water looks beautiful, love the lighting and shadows and hello Reginald :)
November 20th, 2014
You did it again - you made me laugh! Love the chunky dunker concept - skinny dipping for the rest of us. :-) Love this pic, the rocks under the water are beautiful.
November 20th, 2014
Lucky, Reg! Will you being contributing to his therapy fund for having seen chunky dunking? Just curious.

ah...really like the photo, too! Love the way the water mutes the colors of the rocks beneath the surface.
November 20th, 2014
I've missed Reginald......please to see he is still out and having fun.
November 20th, 2014
@graemestevens Fair enough, but all that splashing about trying to get air does make such a mess of the shot.
November 20th, 2014
Glad to see Reginald again. He's the perfect size for a skinny dip. I'm more of the chunky dunker too!
November 20th, 2014
Go for it Reginald:)! I do enjoy skinny dipping myself too so I´m totally with Reginald here ;D You made me google again, I had never heard about chunky dunker before, always new phases to learn
November 20th, 2014
@hermann He says hello back :) Just a slightly longer exposure...
@tabarlett Thank you very much and I'm pleased you had a laugh :)
@voiceprintz Thank you very much, just a lightly longer exposure with an ND filter thrown in for good luck - and if I can't afford therapy for myself I certainly can't for Reginald either!
@deliad He's alive and well!
@golftragic I'll call it abstract...
@dibzgreasley He certainly is the right size...no one would see him...
@susale Good ol' google ;)
November 20th, 2014
haha, Reginald.is back. A bit cold for a dip.
November 20th, 2014
@yaorenliu That's exactly why I didn't go in...
November 20th, 2014
A neat shot - love the water movement - he doesn't look too keen! Fav
November 20th, 2014
@dide thanks very much :)
November 20th, 2014
this is strangely beautiful - and i mean that in a good way!
It has been very hot and humid today - I have been for a PG rated swim this afternoon but may very well go fo a chunky dunk later this evening under the cover of night
November 20th, 2014
Great shot, I didn't pick Reginald for a skinny dipper. At least it's good to see he hasn't become extinct yet
November 20th, 2014
I'd say that Reginald looks a bit apprehensive. Knowing NZ, this water is probably as cold as ice-melt, and would freeze his bits.
November 20th, 2014
I've been awol and am so relieved to see that Reginald is still in one piece! AND you are taking him on outings!!! Wonderful!! :) Lovely peaceful image!
November 20th, 2014
@lynnilou Thanks very much - he is still quite safe...
@888rachel Which is exactly why I didn't go in - this stream is very close to the Mountain so it would have made our comestibles vanish without trace in an instant.
@karlow75 No yet he hasn't....and thanks
@annied We still don't have hot over here, just warm, windy and slightly damp...sigh
November 20th, 2014
hehe fun shot!
November 20th, 2014
Love the colours
November 20th, 2014
Love the underwater rocks.
November 20th, 2014
@nicoleterheide Thanks very much :)
@ounooi I'll pass that on to Mother Nature ;)
@andy3168 Thanks very much - 6 second exposure, just playing around to see what would happen really
November 20th, 2014
water looks like frozen...
November 20th, 2014
@cocobella Definitely not frozen but very, very cold
November 20th, 2014
Jump in Reginald! ;)!
November 21st, 2014
@harbie Turns out he was a big ol' chicken
November 21st, 2014
I love the smooth water from the long exposure. Great capture Mr. S
