The Manawatu

This was taken this morning, on the way back from Palmerston North at Mount Stewart. Even when we lived down this way the name "Mount Stewart" puzzled me as it's only a hill and a very small one at that...but then, the rest of the Manawatu is remarkably flat...

Have never heard of Mount Stewart, but then any small mound near Palmy would be called a mountain. I like the contrast

New Zealand looks like such a stunning country, a landscape photographers dream. My sister and her family have just left there after 8 years to come back to Scotland !! Her husband is from there so I think she's thinking a bit of home time for here . Nuts as the lifestyle seems much more progressive and family orientated than the UK. Beautiful photo
