Holy shit, I did a colour shot. Bugger me backwards and call me bow legged, I promise it will never happen again. Not today anyway.
This was taken at the attractively named "North Mole Beach" in Wanganui, where I go once a month as part of my job for a couple of nights. I stay in the finest hotel in town and dine out on confit duck and fine reds, then I immerse myself in the largest spa bath known to mankind and read a good book. I'm a decadent bastard when the mood takes me.
And yes, there is a skull in this shot.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
Me likes this!! :-))) And, your horribly abominable lifestyle....I don't know how you can bear it!! Not seeing the skull yet, but I am FAVing it anyway!!
I'm going to Wanganui, not Whanganui btw on our road trip! What is the "finest hotel" there? The Commercial?
This shot not exactly colour but I can see a slight green tinge to it which suits!
@kerrynz absolutely. For me this is vivid, blinding colour ;) @maggiemae The Aotea would be the finest, but sadly it's in Whanganui. Good luck finding Wanganui ;) @spanner Thank you sir, and you too. @dibzgreasley I wouldn't want to go overboard, and thank you @kali66 Thank you - nobody needs to see my undergarments on the end of the bed though... @quackyquack It's a bit garish isn't it ;) @panthora It's hard work I assure you - the skull is in the rocks, looks like an animal skull to me @motherjane I thank you from the bottom of my twisted and blackened heart @mastermek I did wonder, but I'm going to take the liberty of interpreting it and say thank you ;)
aaah the good life of a traveller...you have ticked all the required boxes for a bonza night ....and hopefully weren't out of pocket a great deal....this is a fine shot with just a hint of dread and despair....
Well this is quite stunning! And the colour is barely perceptible but subtly works on the foreground. I could almost get excited about it but I hope you will settle for a fav!
Wonderful brooding, dramatic look to this one. The light and reflections on the beach are excellent. The desaturated colors add a hint of color, but not too much. Your comments gave me a laugh, too... I hope the red was suitably decadent.
Amazing shot! Love the dark moody clouds with the hint of sunlight. But the light reflections on the wet sand are stunning. And yes I saw what appears to be a skull.
@susale Thank you very much :) @nicoleterheide Thanks very much :) @janiskay For a moment there I thought it was just me that could see it. I was beginning to hop that I was losing my mind again ;) @rosiekerr The disturbing thing is that I haven't desaturated at all...although it does look like it - and thank you :) @kt8ird Thank you kindly :) @ukandie1 Thank you kindly :) @wildernesswillie Thanks very much :) @kategoring Thanks very much - it's a bit garish but it will do ;) @yrhenwr I don't want to be responsible for some getting excited and doing themselves an injury, so I hope you'll settle for a thanks ;) @northy Phew, I've been living in fear for my live for the past 12 hours ;) @888rachel Thank you very much - I wouldn't want much more colour in my life ;) @pusspup Thank you kindly, I'll think about forgiving you ;) @tellefella The company pays so my pocket is still fully lined ;) And thank you kindly @hermann Thank you very much :) @pinkpaintpot Thank you very much :)
@blueberry1222 Thank you kindly :) @kerosene Thank you kindly - it's a bit garish isn't it? Damn near blinded me when I first looked at it... @nitrogene Thanks - didn't think the photo was too bad either ;)
