Holy Shit. by graemestevens

Holy Shit.

Holy shit, I did a colour shot. Bugger me backwards and call me bow legged, I promise it will never happen again. Not today anyway.
This was taken at the attractively named "North Mole Beach" in Wanganui, where I go once a month as part of my job for a couple of nights. I stay in the finest hotel in town and dine out on confit duck and fine reds, then I immerse myself in the largest spa bath known to mankind and read a good book. I'm a decadent bastard when the mood takes me.
And yes, there is a skull in this shot.
Great image - sounds a tough life!

@dide It's truly awful. I don't know how I do it.
October 9th, 2015
Cwow, what a clearence
October 9th, 2015
Haha, i cant type anymore. Too early...
October 9th, 2015
A little colour suits you sir! Your narrative made me smile :-)
October 9th, 2015
Me likes this!! :-))) And, your horribly abominable lifestyle....I don't know how you can bear it!! Not seeing the skull yet, but I am FAVing it anyway!!
October 9th, 2015
wooow so colourful lol great one ;)
October 9th, 2015
this is exquisite colour!! fabulous shot. you should do a hotel series like @bobfoto used to do, I loved those.
October 9th, 2015
Colour, mmmm, just a tad! Regardless, its wonderful.
October 9th, 2015
Another stunner and in colour. Well done. Have a great weekend.
October 9th, 2015
I'm going to Wanganui, not Whanganui btw on our road trip! What is the "finest hotel" there? The Commercial?
This shot not exactly colour but I can see a slight green tinge to it which suits!
October 9th, 2015
What colour? Are you sure??!
October 9th, 2015
@kerrynz absolutely. For me this is vivid, blinding colour ;)
@maggiemae The Aotea would be the finest, but sadly it's in Whanganui. Good luck finding Wanganui ;)
@spanner Thank you sir, and you too.
@dibzgreasley I wouldn't want to go overboard, and thank you
@kali66 Thank you - nobody needs to see my undergarments on the end of the bed though...
@quackyquack It's a bit garish isn't it ;)
@panthora It's hard work I assure you - the skull is in the rocks, looks like an animal skull to me
@motherjane I thank you from the bottom of my twisted and blackened heart
@mastermek I did wonder, but I'm going to take the liberty of interpreting it and say thank you ;)
October 9th, 2015
Already deleted one with a typo. Better now. I starting the day with a coffee break.
October 9th, 2015
@mastermek That's exactly how I start every day. Several times usually.
October 9th, 2015
amazing fav
October 9th, 2015
Fabulous lighting, love the reflection on the sand.
October 9th, 2015
aaah the good life of a traveller...you have ticked all the required boxes for a bonza night ....and hopefully weren't out of pocket a great deal....this is a fine shot with just a hint of dread and despair....
October 9th, 2015
barely colour and surprising calm after the storm shot. lovely, sorry. fav.
October 9th, 2015
Stunning shot, and perhaps as close to b&w that a colour shot can be!
October 9th, 2015
It's pretty glorious... And not overly colourful... So you're forgiven :p
October 9th, 2015
Well this is quite stunning! And the colour is barely perceptible but subtly works on the foreground. I could almost get excited about it but I hope you will settle for a fav!
October 9th, 2015
Stunning, love that "hint" of colour.
October 9th, 2015
Nice shot. Like the stormy cloud look.
October 9th, 2015
Love the de-saturated look of this.
October 9th, 2015
Gorgeous!
October 9th, 2015
Wonderful brooding, dramatic look to this one. The light and reflections on the beach are excellent. The desaturated colors add a hint of color, but not too much. Your comments gave me a laugh, too... I hope the red was suitably decadent.
October 9th, 2015
Amazing shot! Love the dark moody clouds with the hint of sunlight. But the light reflections on the wet sand are stunning. And yes I saw what appears to be a skull.
October 9th, 2015
Wow this is fabulous! Love how the color enhances the shot!
October 9th, 2015
I love this, so clear and so bright yet somehow dramatic
October 9th, 2015
super-mega awesome
October 9th, 2015
@susale Thank you very much :)
@nicoleterheide Thanks very much :)
@janiskay For a moment there I thought it was just me that could see it. I was beginning to hop that I was losing my mind again ;)
@rosiekerr The disturbing thing is that I haven't desaturated at all...although it does look like it - and thank you :)
@kt8ird Thank you kindly :)
@ukandie1 Thank you kindly :)
@wildernesswillie Thanks very much :)
@kategoring Thanks very much - it's a bit garish but it will do ;)
@yrhenwr I don't want to be responsible for some getting excited and doing themselves an injury, so I hope you'll settle for a thanks ;)
@northy Phew, I've been living in fear for my live for the past 12 hours ;)
@888rachel Thank you very much - I wouldn't want much more colour in my life ;)
@pusspup Thank you kindly, I'll think about forgiving you ;)
@tellefella The company pays so my pocket is still fully lined ;) And thank you kindly
@hermann Thank you very much :)

@kerosene Thank you kindly - it's a bit garish isn't it? Damn near blinded me when I first looked at it...
@nitrogene Thanks - didn't think the photo was too bad either ;)
October 9th, 2015
Is this colour......if it is, mine must be very garish...liquid silver I think.....stunning!
October 9th, 2015
@happypat It's colour, barely. I hardly had to touch it for processing either...just the way I like my nature ;)
October 9th, 2015

October 10th, 2015
Great shot Graeme, the slight amount of colour does add to the picture. Result.
October 10th, 2015
@vignouse Thank you kindly good sir :)
@pools82 Thanks very much - completely accidental ;)
October 10th, 2015
Well truly the color is blinding and so unexpected.

October 11th, 2015
@graemestevens @kali66 - hang those underpants from the ceiling fan then?
October 20th, 2015
@bobfoto I could get the staff to launder them while I take the required photo
October 20th, 2015
@graemestevens - lucky you if you can afford the in-house laundry service! Still wash my smalls in the basin... ;)
