This is for the One Night Stand challenge and would be a low light shot as it was shot in...low light.
It's been a good day as Mrs. S and I won a small victory for the little people - 2 months ago we purchased a new but faulty fridge from a corporate giant of a retailer here in New Zealand and have spent the last week jumping through their imposed hoops with the end result being that the fridge is still faulty and likes to think that it's actually a freezer.
Today, while staying completely calm and reasonable in the face of barely concealed threats and coercion we succeeded in getting our money refunded in full.
The complete event was witnessed by several dismayed staff and customers and the manager continued to change colour in the face of our calm, reasonable behaviour and finally agreed to refund the money. I believe that the final straw, the one that had him telling us to never shop in his store again (in front of the witnessing customers) was when I said "thank you, much appreciated." I thought he was going to pop.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
I would say that's more an orbit than an occipital, however I don't want to get on the wrong side of you. Although I do empathise with your appliance experience. I am still waiting for my brand new oven, which I have only used twice, to have its faulty fan replaced. Only been 1 month so far..........
Terrible customer service from your corporate giant of a retailer and, also, it would appear, Delia's supplier. I, on the other, hand experienced wonderful customer service today from a national retailer.
@jack4john That would have been hilarious... @panthora It was the first and last time! @mona65 I did indeed, although in hindsight I should have left one in there @nickspicsnz Thanks very much - terrible service indeed but there are some who get it right @deliad Oh dear - I hope it's not the right retailer. And yes, orbital is correct but occipital is the lobe that processes what the eyes see, so we can be both be right :) Good luck with that oven!!!
Hooray for the little people! You should have shown the manager some of your photography - that would have made him truly worried and he might not have held out for so long. Great shot by the way.
Wonderful image, and awesome story! The power of staying calm can be so amazing - you won in more than one way. It's so easy to turn to anger and foul words, we've all been there. But being calm and getting what ou want... Yes. And boo to the corporate giant!! The older I get the more I want to support the little guys with my purchases...
@epcello Thanks very much :) @annied Thank ya ma'am - todays short might require a bit more effort as the new skull in the family is a lot smaller. A lot. @kali66 I love it but I am going to have to ask him for my eyebrow back...and yes, it has gone a bit chilly again... @juliedduncan It took a lot of effort at some points in the conversation...particularly when he suggested I might want to try my luck in a court of law....wow, really? @kerosene Thanks very much - when he said that we were no longer welcome in his shop I just looked him in the eye and said "thanks, that's fine by me"...and he walked away in a huff @northy Thanks very much - I do like a win every now and then, especially when you buy a fridge that thinks it's a freezer @dh Thanks very much - I would have liked to get a photo of him as he changed colour from flesh toned to red to purple... @callymazoo I'm known for my subtlety so it came as a surprise to me as well... @365projectorgsebgritt Sadly it is only a sheep skull...
@taffy It's not often I stay calm either but in the face of his complete and utter buffoonery (sorry, there's no other word for it) it's the only option I had. The hard part was not giggling. @joansmor I managed to restrain myself...
