From here to...somewhere that's not here. There.

Somewhat disturbingly this is not the first time that I've lain down on railway lines. For those of you who are wondering, there is also a point in my life, now almost lost in the mists of time, where I have chased a train with a banana in my upraised fist. It was while doing said chasing of train that my wife first saw me. Ah youth.
Love, love, love your POV! There's no railroad tracks in our city. I so wish there was! Instant FAV.

Hahaha young love - that is a great story... A really fantastic shot Graeme, despite the safety issues this shooting position undoubtedly creates...
February 22nd, 2016
@kerosene Thanks very much - I checked before I left the site and no trains went up my posterior, so I'm going to assume that I got away with it ;)
@kwind Thanks very much - most of the lines around here are now unused...except this one...maybe I shouldn't have lain down on it...
February 22nd, 2016
Great shot with the lines never converging completely! Looks somewhat uncomfortable too!
February 22nd, 2016
Super low angle-you must have been laying on the tracks! Admire the pov.
February 22nd, 2016
@redy4et Thanks very much - I have stone marks :(
@maggiemae Thank you kindly - "somewhat uncomfortable" is a bit of an understatement...the things we do.
February 22nd, 2016
This is uncomfortable and fascinating to me. I have always loved trains, really love riding trains and yet whe I was ten I saw ask an in a pink dress hit by a train, and when I was 47 my nephew died walking in front of a train. I still love them, in that strange place that understands nothing is simple and all great loves must be complex
and thinking of life and

The flip side

Makes me really love your title

Spell checker!

That was "a lady in a pink dress"
February 22nd, 2016
@pandorasecho I had a sneaking suspicion that spell check had been up to no good there...and thank you very much
February 22nd, 2016
What people do for their art ....
February 22nd, 2016
love the view
February 22nd, 2016
Incredible pov!
February 22nd, 2016
Feels like you took this shot immediately after your camera squashed by the train. I have two laaaaaandscape in a row in my hope page. Rather interesting.
February 22nd, 2016
@brigette Well, it was nice to have a lie down...
@annied Thank you - the view the other way wasn't so good though because I was in it
@dide Thanks very much - what can I say...I like low...
@yaorenliu I'll pop over and have a look...
February 22nd, 2016
Very unusual POV, you're committed to your art but the results is a spectacular yet unique landscape shot.
February 22nd, 2016
@juleshoogstraanderson Thank you very much - to be honest, I just fancied a lie down ;)
February 22nd, 2016
Really great - love your pov.
February 22nd, 2016
@graemestevens well yes - that makes sense
February 22nd, 2016
@nickspicsnz Thanks very much. All I wanted was to lie down.
@annied That happens occasionally.
February 22nd, 2016
Why does this remind me of the poem - a peanut sat on a railway track.......
February 22nd, 2016
not sure why I would have been wondering about you chasing a train with a banana in tow... but now, I am wondering....
February 22nd, 2016
Such a cool images! Especially the funny tree on the right
February 22nd, 2016
Well I'm really glad you laid down here, the pov is fabulous daahling! Will skip past the bit about chasing a train with a banana...
February 22nd, 2016
haha what a great memorie ;) Fabulous shot!
February 22nd, 2016
Lovely processing and wonderful pov. How low can you get, Graeme?
February 22nd, 2016
Nice leading line shot.
February 22nd, 2016
what...no signs of death or morbidity?...lol...love it...fav
February 22nd, 2016
Well worth the risk! Fav - although you might have draped a few dead animal over the rails to signify the cost to other species of human progress... or a giant skull at the vanishing point as a symbol of what lies in store for us all.. or both!
February 22nd, 2016
I love railroads ---- for the love of our art sometimes it's well worth the risk to get the shot. We just all need to be very careful when doing so - I have laid down on tracks before to get that shot and the outcome was wonderful but I did have to kick myself later for trying it (just a little bit).
February 22nd, 2016
Nice work.
February 22nd, 2016
I think there must be more to this story. Great processing
February 22nd, 2016
@pasttheirprime There is, and it involves twins. That should get you wondering even more ;) And thanks very much
@spanner Thanks very much :)
@gracefullyetched Luckily most of the tracks around here are now unused, or very seldom so in this case...besides which, it was nice to have a lie down and amused me greatly to pretend to be a damsel in distress for 5 minutes of my day ;)
@yrhenwr Thanks you kindly good sir, but be careful what shots you wish for. I've been having strange thoughts lately...more so than usual.
@maree_sanderson I'm sure there must be something dead in amongst all those stones....and thanks very much
@joansmor Thank you kindly ;)
@365projectorgsebgritt Physically this is about as low as it goes...mentally, it's a completely different story ;)
@nicoleterheide Thank you very much :)
@dibzgreasley Thank you kindly, most appreciated...and yes, best to leave the banana alone ;)
@mastermek Thank you kindly - that tree is a bit...odd...
@alinz The entire story involves not only a banana and a train, but a 1971 mini and twin girls. Wonder on... ;)
@deliad I hope you're not calling me a peanut? ;)
February 22nd, 2016
Very cool. Gotta be worth it for the art
February 22nd, 2016
fav-in-it-so-I-am....
February 22nd, 2016
Magical pov - draws me right in, ready to lie alongside you :)
February 22nd, 2016
Lee
Lets just hope you've got the direction of the travelling train correct, could be messy.
February 22nd, 2016
Do I see a banana peel lying on the tracks. Great POV, nice trees.
February 22nd, 2016
definitely worth the risk x
February 22nd, 2016
Great POV
February 22nd, 2016
Just excellent - and very Graeme.
February 22nd, 2016
Lovely low pov... Dare I ask the purpose of the banana?
February 23rd, 2016
Love your dangerous pov!
February 23rd, 2016
@radiogirl Thank you very much :)
@northy Thank you and no, best not...it didn't survive the day though...
@vignouse Thank you kindly good sir.
@rachelwithey Thanks very much, truth be told I just wanted a lie down...
@carla42 I take my life in my hands for your viewing pleasure...
@overalvandaan I hope not...if there is it means someone else is using my smooth moves ;)
@gamelee I checked and there were no trains stuck in my posterior so I can only assume I was facing the right way
@lynnilou Steady now, I'm a married man.
@jack4john Thankin'-you-so-I-am
@pistache I'll do (almost) anything...
February 23rd, 2016
How romantic, I'll bet that's quite the story!!
February 23rd, 2016
@graemestevens not at all, you describe yourself as a nutbar.....
February 23rd, 2016
@deliad There is that...I guess I'll have to live with it then ;)
@nikkilee I ended up marrying the recipient of the banana so the story is ongoing...
February 23rd, 2016
Magical! FAv.
February 23rd, 2016
@kareenking Thanks very much :)
February 23rd, 2016
The low perspective really works Graeme, love the lines. (pun intended).
February 23rd, 2016
@pools82 Thank you very much - pun away my good man, pun away
February 24th, 2016
I know I’ve seen this opening scene in a film somewhere...
February 27th, 2016
@bankmann I have no idea...I just wanted to lie down and seemed like a nice place to do it
February 27th, 2016
cool shot
February 28th, 2016
@je77rey Thanks very much :)
February 28th, 2016
Mac
Just love the perspective on this. What did your wife think when she saw you?
February 29th, 2016
@riverlandphotos That incident happened when I was 16. I'm now 45. I must ask her...
