Makahako Junction by graemestevens

Makahako Junction

Yes, I have been away again. Thanks for asking. This time I went further beyond "nowhere" than previously thought possible and found myself (which I was beginning to think would never happen) at Makahako Junction. Aptly named, it is indeed a junction of two small gravel roads - one goes towards the abyss and the other, I believe, heads directly towards the nether regions of back country lifestyles, complete with buggery, banjos and innocent bystanders that are never seen again. Thankfully I am far from innocent and very rarely a bystander.
I am glad you found yourself in nowhere. Fav shot

@deliad Thank you very much - it was so far past nowhere that I was beginning to wonder why I wasn't being shot at.

@annied I'm rather fond of my junction 'n all ;)
@sstcowan Thank you very much - didn't quite get the mist the way I would have liked but it will do

Who sent you there and were they hoping you wouldn't return? Looks like a lovely place to visit! Methinks you exagerate! Lol! Fav!

Reminds me of the photographs of the old west (i.e. of America) like O'Sullivan. Reading the description this perfectly fits. Great work.

@graemestevens well everyone should be fond of their own junction

I'm a little bit in love with that light and the perfectly silhouetted tree... Your narrative, on the other hand, fills me with dread and fear ;p

Stunning, Great Sun flare!

Buggery and banjos and bystanders eh? Good alliteration at least. The shot isn't bad either

mmm..... I wonder which road you took at the junction.

I like where ever this nowhere is - I need to go there sometime.

@northy At least there are some redeeming qualities - just don't bend over and you'll be fine.
@elishajae Thank you very much :)
@pistache Thank you kindly, my English teacher was a stickler for detail ;)
@deborah63 The one that took me back to civilisation - or what passes for it in these parts...
@gracefullyetched It's a beautiful part of the country but...quiet...very, very quiet

Wonderful scenery.
March 3rd, 2016
@overalvandaan I'd say thanks but I didn't have a lot to do with the scenery - I'm just the mug behind the camera ;)
@alinz I had a ukulele...they seemed to be okay with that
@ceilidh Thank you very much :)
@nicoleterheide Thanks very much :)

Superb shot Graeme, but your text is killing me (in a good way) as is often the case :)

'He's a real nowhere man, living in a nowhere land …' Love the shot and the narrative.

@westonjd Thank you very much - there wasn't anything else in this part of the world to photograph so I had no choice!
